IEEE Paper Contest

The annual IEEE paper contest is coming up very soon and all undergraduate IEEE members are encouraged to participate. The competition focuses on communications skills (both written and oral).  Your paper does not have to be on original research.

There will be a BYU chapter competition out of which one paper will be selected to go to the regional competition. Both contests will follow a similar format.

The BYU chapter competition will consist of both a written paper as well as a 10-15 minute oral presentation. The papers must be submitted by Friday, April 10th so they can be reviewed by the judges. The competition presentations will be held Wednesday, April 15th (a reading day) from 5-7:30 PM in room 460 of the Clyde. There will be cash prizes for the top papers with the winner having the opportunity to go to the regional competition.

The Region Student Paper Contest will be held on Saturday, April 25, at Boise State University. Awards for the area winners are as follows: First Place: $500, Second place: $300, Third Place: $200. The accepted author from BYU will also be reimbursed for travel to the competition by the IEEE.

For the complete rules please see the provided document. While the rules are for the regional competition, we will be applying the same format to the chapter competition.

Any questions should be directed to ieee@byu.net.
